Decorate Your Digs Part 1

Were you expecting normal? If the mundane is your thing, you’ve come to the wrong place. We do out of the box stuff like three car garages at Wilson Heights and Catalina Crossing and walk-in showers at Mayfair Apartments.

Now to go along with that, here’s a few out of the box decorating ideas for when it’s time spruce up your new apartment at Rivercourt Apartments in Milwaukee:

1. Aquarium Bed

2019 04 18 aquarium bed 300x243 - Decorate Your Digs Part 1
Aren’t fish supposed to be soothing? Aren’t you sick of counting sheep? And don’t sheep smell? Consider this aqua bed!

2. Indoor-Outdoor Pool

2019 04 18 indoor outdoor pool 300x275 - Decorate Your Digs Part 1
Ok, this one may be a little impractical in our Wisconsin climate, not to mention being a bit of a budget buster. But what if you hit the lottery? You’ve got to be ready for when good fortune smiles your way!

3. Chandelier That Turns Your Room into a Forest

How to Dress Up Your Floors

red carpet 300x141 - How to Dress Up Your FloorsThe other day, I was reading about tricks and tips for dressing up your floors without spending a lot. Good luck with that!

Why put perfume on a pig? Don’t you walk barefoot on those floors? Isn’t the flooring one of the most eye-catching elements of your home?

If your floors look like they are in need of a retread, check out Catalina Crossing Apartments where everything is new, including the floor, and the name too.

The standard around here is new construction. Even in our older properties like Washington Heights Apartments in Horicon, we know what you want and what you deserve. And we deliver.

Come see one of our beautiful new units today!

Design Ideas for Small Spaces

OK, so you blew it. You should have moved into Madison’s newest development, Catalina Crossing, where apartments are as large as 1775 square feet. We call that floorplan the Sequoia. Maybe we should have called it the Shamu. While this townhouse is huge, the garage is too. You can fit three cars in your attached garage.

But I digress. We already said that you blew it. You moved somewhere else, into some cracker jack box tiny apartment and now you’re pressed like a grape for space. As always, we have the answers, with a little help from our friends at Ikea:

patio set 300x300 - Design Ideas for Small SpacesMaybe try this patio set for your dining room:

Ditch the umbrella, but notice how the table can be expanded. In the up position shown, there’s hooks for storage.

mother in law suite bed 300x200 - Design Ideas for Small SpacesNo room for a dresser in your bedroom? Once again, at Catalina Crossing, the bedrooms are huge and they have walk-in closets. In fact, we don’t even call them closets. They’re called the mother in law suite. You just stick her in there with a bed like this one and she stores her stuff underneath:

crib bed 300x300 - Design Ideas for Small SpacesHere’s a little something for the younger set, once again designed with efficiency in mind:

murphy bed 300x300 - Design Ideas for Small SpacesFinally, there’s always the Murphy Bed.

murphy bed folded up 300x300 - Design Ideas for Small SpacesI’d say hang a flat screen on the back of this thing under your bed and when you fold it up, it’s TV time.

Or of course, if you lived at Catalina Crossing, you wouldn’t have to be this clever. Hey, it’s only for a year. And then you can call us at (608) 575-4377 and get an apartment with plenty of room.

Decorate Your Balcony

Cool breezes. Nice views. Hey, let’s hang out on the balcony! But how do you make your balcony into an oasis of cool? Not to fear, interior Dave Deckorater is here.

colorful flowers in a wood planter box 300x300 - Decorate Your BalconyHow about some plants? There’s nothing like some color to brighten up your day. Some low maintenance annuals might be just the ticket, and easy too. Traipse down to your local garden center or big box home improvement store and pick some things out. Read the label on the plants to account for full sun, partial sun or shade, depending on your needs. Don’t forget to water!

What about some seating? Get something made for the weather – all weather wicker, wrought iron or similar. You don’t want something that you have to worry about getting wet. Continue reading

Extreme Makeover in Horicon

horicon washington heights apartments exterior 1 188x188 - Extreme Makeover in HoriconYou’ve seen it before. The ducklings become swans with the help from a personal trainer, a hair stylist and a little cosmetic surgery.

We skipped the personal trainer, but everything else about our remodeling project at the Washington Heights Apartments in Horicon was extreme.

We tore off the balconies that used to be on the bedrooms and put them on the living rooms where they belonged. We replaced the parking lot and did the landscaping over again. A little exterior siding and all new windows and doors and everything on the building exterior that’s visible to the eye looks brand new. Continue reading
